Landscape Architecture Project Management

I came to landscape architecture after a career in social services. Studying landscape architecture expanded my passion for improving lives and I fell in love with creating common spaces for everyone and taking on environmental challenges with a combination of technical, creative and ecological tools.
I obtained my Landscape Architecture Certificate at UC Berkeley in 2004 and since then have gained a wide range of experience, designing landscapes from small San Francisco backyards to Sonoma estates estates and large housing developments and parks. While working for a local landscape architecture firm I worked on many large scale landscape plans for housing developments throughout California, including the projects shown below. I created design development, permit submittal and construction drawing packages and managed the installation of large scale landscape projects until the economic crisis shifted my career. In 2009 all of the designers in the firm were laid off and I was forced to rethink my professional life and began studying Bay Area ecology and permaculture. You can read more about my permaculture and urban agriculture experience here.
In 2010 I started my own business producing drawings for other landscape designers, including residential, school and commercial projects. Much of that work was with Redbud Design, a San Francisco-based landscape designer, who I continue to partner with regularly creating design, permit and construction sets for large scale residential and commercial projects in the Bay Area.

Marina Harbor
Landscape Renovation
Marina del Rey, California
Marina Harbor is a large apartment complex in southern California; I was involved in all phases of the project renovation which included designing and detailing pools, spas, shade structures, raised seating and lawn areas, planting, lighting, tennis courts and ADA accessible entrances on three existing podiums. Additionally, the project included a small park, water features and improving the existing landscape around the forteen apartment buildings. I worked closely with the structural engineer and architect and coordinated between the owner representative, contractors, consultants & venders. I produced all design development and construction documents.
